Top Al Qaeda commander arrested in Quetta
QUETTA (PAN): A top Al Qaeda leader, Younas al- Moritani, was on Monday arrested in Pakistan's southwestern city of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, which shares border with Afghanistan, the army said.
The Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) in a statement said Moritani was arrested after intelligence reports confirmed his presence in the city. His other associates identified as Abdul Ghafar Al-Shamsi and Masara Al-Shami, were also arrested during the joint operation of intelligence and border police.
The arrest was a great blow to the terror network and a result of close coordination between intelligence agencies of the US and Pakistan, the statement said.
