Sep 06, 2011 - 15:48

FARAH CITY (PANinfo-icon): Two people were killed and as many others injured when a truck carrying logistic goods for foreign troops hit a roadside bomb in western Farah province, an official said on Tuesday.

The blast took place in the Bakwa district on Monday, said provincial intelligence chief, Gen. Abdul Samad.

The truck was escorted by Afghan and international troops when the blast ripped through it, he said.

The truck's driver and his assistance were killed and two others people were injured in the incident, but the troops stayed unharmed, the official said.

Meanwhile, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a Talibaninfo-icon spokesman, said four fuel tankers and two other vehicles were torched and six guards escorting the convoy were killed during the attack.
