Head-on collision leaves 4 dead, 28 injured

JALALABAD (PANinfo-icon): Four passengers were killed and 28 others injured in a traffic accident on Kabulinfo-icon-Jalalabad Highway in eastern Laghman province, officials said on Wednesday.

A minibus outbound from Kabul collided with a van coming from Jalalabad, leaving behind a least four people killed and 25 others injured, the highway commander, Col. Shukur, said, adding the victims were taken to hospitals.

Naeemullah, a doctor on duty in a clinic in the Kakas area of Qarghayee district, said 25 injured were brought to the clinic and were shifted to Laghman and Jalalabad hospitals after recieving first aid.

Some of the injured were in critical condition, he added.

Dr. Abdul Latif Qaumi, Laghman civil hospital chief, confirmed receiving three injured to the hospital.

Kabul-Jalalabad Highway is very prone to traffic accidents.
