7 dead in Helmand suicide attack
LASHKARGAH (PAN): Seven people were killed and five others injured in a suicide attack at the entrance to the police office in the Sangin district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Friday.
"A suicide attacker detonated his explosives-laden car on Thursday evening when he was stopped at the district police headquarters gate, killing seven people, including three policemen and injuring five others," the governor's spokesman said.
Daud Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the attacker was yet to be identified. Police had launched an investigation into the attack, the spokesman added.
Ten days back, a suicide bomber blew up his car in front of a bank in the district. Four people were killed and 21 others injured in the bombing.
