ISAF soldier killed in roadside bombing

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) soldier died in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in southern Afghanistaninfo-icon, the alliance said on Friday.

The death was announced in a brief statement from the ISAF media office that neither revealed the servicemember's nationality nor the exact location of the roadside bombing, a weapon of choice for Talibaninfo-icon militants.

So far during the current year, 424 international soldiers, including 314 Americans, have died in Afghanistan. In 2010, 711 ISAF troops were killed in the country.
