2 border policemen killed in Nangarhar blast
JALALABAD (PAN): Two border police officials were killed in a remote-controlled bomb explosion in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Sunday.
The explosion took place on Saturday evening when a remote-controlled bomb hit a police vehicle in the Gagrai area of Haska Mena district, the administrative head of the town said.
Esa Khan Zwak told Pajhwok Afghan News two policemen were killed in the blast, but 1st border police brigade spokesman Idrees Momand said a third official was wounded.
The injured was taken to the Bagram military base by International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldiers, the spokesman said.
In recent days, security in some districts of the province has deteriorated. The intelligence head of Khogyani district and a tribal elder were recently killed.
