Terror group busted in Herat
HERAT CITY (PAN): A three-member militant group accused of involvement in suicide attacks and assassinations of government officials has been busted by intelligence operatives in western Herat province, an official said on Sunday.
The governor's spokesman, Mohiuddin Noori, identified the group leader as Samiullah. The men had confessed to their crimes during preliminary investigations, he told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The group had also confessed to being involved in a bomb attack on an Afghan army vehicle and assassination of the Chasht-i-Sharif district chief, intelligence officer, crime branch head and three policemen, he said.
The group planned to launch a bomb attack on the National Directorate of Security building and the Zafar Military Corps in Guzara district.
