QUETTA (PAN): Two US nationals were freed hours after being kidnapped in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, on Monday.
The US citizens were traveling on the Saryab road when seized by five gunmen, highway police officer Muhammad Younus told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the victims, working for a foreign company, were abducted by masked gunmen. They were going to the Customs office in the area for a clearance certificate for a vehicle.
After spending two hours in captivity, a private TV channel reported, the men were dropped off on a road in the Shahbaz Town neighbourhood.
On August 20, an American named Warren Weinstein was kidnapped at gunpoint from his residence in Lahore. Weinstein works for a US consulting firm based in Arlington, Virginia.
