KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Two suicide blasts hit as many police centres in the heavily-fortified Afghan capital of Kabul on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The blasts happened near Deh Mazang Square and Habibi High School on the Darul Aman road, a spokesman for the 101st Asmayee police zone said.

The office of the first brigade of public order police is located near the square and the 202nd Shamshad Police Headquarters close to the Habibi High School.

Witness Abdul Ahmad said the bombings, followed by heavy gunfire, took place at around 3pm. The Pajhwok reporter saw a dead body taken out of the Shamshad Police Headquarters.

The corpse of a policeman was taken to hospital, an official told Pajhwok Afghan News on condition of anonymity.

A Talibaninfo-icon spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed risibility for two suicide attacks on Afghan security personnel.

At the same time, a gunfight that erupted between the Taliban and security forces after a string of explosions at 1pm in the Abdul Haq Square was still ongoing.
