2 dead, 8 injured in Musa Qala suicide blast
LASHKARGA (PAN): A policeman and a civilian were killed and eight others, including three women, injured when a suicide attacker detonated his explosives-laden car in southern Helmand province, an official said on Wednesday.
The attack took place at a police checkpoint in the Gharah Tala area of Musa Qala district late on Tuesday, Daud Ahmadi, the governor's spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News. The assailant detonated his explosives when police searched his car.
"We do not know whether the attacker targeted the checkpoint," the spokesman said, adding the injured were evacuated to a district hospital. There was no immediate information about their health condition, he said.
