Day-long gunbattle: Troops vanish Kabul assailants (Video)
KABUL, Sept 14, 2011: Seven people, including four policemen, were killed and 17 others wounded in back-to-back militant attacks in the capital Kabul on Tuesday, an official said on Wednesday.
Several gunmen, equipped with heavy and light weapons, stormed a high-rise building under construction near the Abdul Haq Square in the heavily-fortified capital city at around 1:30pm on Tuesday.
They began firing at the National Directorate of Security (NDS) office, the US embassy, NATO headquarters and some government compounds, Ghulam Siddiq Siddiqui, a spokesman for the interior ministry, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Four people, including a policeman, were killed and nine others wounded in the attack, he said, fearing the casualty figures could be higher.
