GHAZNI CITY (PAN): On completing a two-month training, 270 policemen were awarded certificates in the southern province of Ghazni, officials said on Thursday.
The policemen were trained searching houses and vehicles, conducting security operations and patrols and use of weapons, as well as law enforcement.
The training was a success, the commander of the police accademy at the Provinical Reconstrution Team (PRT) headquarters, Staff Capt. Ramazan Ali, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Since March 2011, four batches of 850 policemen have been trained at the academy. In addition to theoritical lessons, the policemen also received practical trained.
One of the trainees, Qudratullah who is posted in the second police district of Ghazni City, said he learnt a great deal police regulations and skils.
There was lack of deciplince among untrained policemen, said a police officer in Khwaja Omari district, Mohammad Rahim.
More policemen would from Ghazni and neighboring provinces are to be trained by Polish, US and Afghan security mentors.
