District police building inaugurated in Lashkargah
LASHKARGAH (PAN): A second district police building was inaugurated on Thursday in the Karta Lagan area of Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province, officials said.
The project was funded by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Brig. Gen. Muhammad Hakeem Angar, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Without giving the cost of the project, he said the building was completed in one year. District police officials previously faced accommodation problems.
With 12 offices and residential rooms, the building would resolve police problems and enable them to better perform their duties, Angar said.
District police commander, Corporal Jan Agha Dawari, said his colleagues had no residential facility. With the construction of the building, their problems would be resolved, he added.
