Security and CrimeISAF helicopter damaged in Taliban attack
By Javed Hamim Kakar Sep 19, 2011 - 12:01KABUL (PAN): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) helicopter was damaged in a Taliban attack in southern Afghanistan, the alliance said on Monday.
The incident occurred after the militants fired at the helicopter late on Sunday, the ISAF media office in Kabul said in a brief statement that gave no further details. The chopper was slightly damaged and landed safely at a coalition base in the area.
Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman, claimed that the Chinook helicopter was destroyed in the Zherai district of Kandahar province.
