KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Work on asphalting 3.6 kilometres of streets was launched in the Parwan-i-Do neighbourhood of Kabul on Tuesday, officials said.

The project would cost $1.4 million to be provided by the municipality, Mayor Eng. Muhammad Younus Nawandesh told journalists.

Scheduled to be completed in 270 days, the project was awarded to the Ittefaq Zadran Company as a result of bidding, the mayor said.

Fourth district council chief, Muhammad Anwar, thanked the municipality and hoped the company would complete the project on schedule.

Simultaneously, work on 87 different schemes, including roads, parks, canals and bridges, is underway in various parts of the capital, the mayor said.
