6 Taliban killed, 3 detained in Wardak clash
MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN): Six Taliban were killed and three others detained during an operation by Afghan and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldiers in central Maidan Wardak province, officials said on Saturday.
Launched at 10:00am in the Tangi area of Syedabad district, the joint offensive was still ongoing, Dr. Muslim, the town's administrative head, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Shahidullah Shahid, the governor's spokesman, confirmed the operation and said security forces had suffered no casualties.
Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, confirmed the clash was still in progress. However, he had no information about casualties.
