District police chief escapes unhurt in blast
KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): A district police chief in northern Kunduz province said on Saturday he had survived a roadside bomb attack, but one of his bodyguards was killed.
His vehicle struck the roadside bomb on the way to the office, Col. Ghulam Mohiuddin, the Chardara district police head, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The militants had planted the landmine that resulted in killing his bodyguard and damaging his vehicle, the police officer said.
Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, claimed responsibility for the bombing and said two of the police chief's bodyguards were killed.
