Sep 25, 2011 - 16:28

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): The Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon's Defence Commission on Sunday condemned Pakistaninfo-icon for firing rartillery shells into Afghanistaninfo-icon and asked the UN Security Council to stop cross-border attacks.

The commission chief, Shukriya Barakzai, said the attacks were against all international laws and must be stopped immediately.

Addressing a news conference in Kabul, she demanded the UN Security Council mount pressure on Pakistan and the Afghan government must also act diplomatically to prevent such assaults.

The government and people of Afghanistan must not show weakness, Barakzai stressed.

Pakistan has been attacking different provinces of Afghanistan from time to time. More than one hundred people were killed and injured in such attacks two months ago.
