JALALABAD (PAN): Construction work on a road linking central and western parts of eastern Nuristan province was launched on Sunday, a senior official said.
Funded by the Ministry of Public Works, the 38-kilometre road connects Wama and Noorgram district of the province, Governor Tamim Nuristani told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Costing $144,568 (7,000,000 afs), the project was halted due to security problems in the province, the governor said.
In addition to linking six districts of Nuristan, the distance between Laghman and Kabul would also be shortened as a result of the project, the governor said.
