KABUL (PAN): The condition of the High Peace Council secretary, who was wounded in last week's bomb attack, is getting better and he may be discharged in a week, a doctor at the Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan Hospital, said on Monday.

Mohammad Masoom Stanikzai was wounded in the suicide attack on former president Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani at his residence in the Wazir Akbar Khan area on Tuesday.

Stanikzai was rushed to a hospital of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) at Bagram Airbase. He was referred to the Daud Khan Hospital two days back, Dr. Mohammad Nazir Sherzai said.

Stanikzai had suffered slight injuries to his hands and feet, he told Pajhwok Afghan News. In addition to Stanikzai, a security guard, Abdul Sattar, was also wounded during the blast.
