25 militants killed in Ghazni airstrike
The clashes happened in Randakhel, Baguli Kala and Kandikhel villages on the Kabul-Kandahar highway, where the Taliban stormed a logistics convoy, Brig. Gen. Zarawar Zahid, the provincial police chief, told a news conference.
As many as 25 militants were killed in a subsequent airstrike by the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, the police chief said, adding the rebels' bodies were still lying at the scene.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, confirmed the loss of only three fighters. He claimed 14 guards of a private security company were killed and four vehicles torched in the battle.
