Pakistani shelling displaces Nuristan families

JALALABAD (PANinfo-icon): Many families were forced from their homes in eastern Nuristan province as a result of continued artillery shelling from Pakistaninfo-icon, officials said on Tuesday.

At least 100 families left their houses in the Gordesh village of Kamdesh district, Brig. Gen. Shamsurahman Nuristani, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Pakistani border guards have advanced to zero points where neither side could not have any activity based on international rules, said Mohammad Zarin, the governor's spokesman.

On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Pakistan Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq Khan. The diplomat was told ask his country to immediately stop the shelling.
