34 militants killed, 26 detained: MoI
The fighters suffered the casualties as a result of 12 joint operations by Afghan National Army (ANA) and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), it said.
According to a statement from the MoI, the operations were conducted in Kabul, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kapisa, Baghlan, Helmand, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni and Paktia provinces.
Four militants were wounded and some ammunitions and drugs seized. Police also detained two mine planters along with three anti-vehicle mines and one AK-47 in Nad Ali district of Helmand.
Seven anti-vehicle mines, explosives, a pistol, three missiles, three remote-controlled mines, 100 metres bomb fuse wire, and 15 kg of gunpowder were seized in Laghman, Baghlan, Kunduz, Kandahar and Khost provinces
Meanwhile seven people were arrested on the charge of forging passports, robbery, beating, kidnapping and land grab in Kabul.
