Ammunition dump found in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Police recovered a militants' ammunition dump in central Logar province, officials said on Thursday.
The depot was found on Wednesday night in the Kaji area on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai said the ammunitions included rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and mortar shells, firecracker, 15 kilograms of explosives and more than 100 metres bomb fuse wire.
Mohammad Jan Abid, the provincial crime branch chief, said no one had been detained so far in connection with the ammunition depot, but an investigation was underway.
The ammunitions were surrendered to the Disbandment of Illegal Armed Group (DIAG) programme, he concluded.
