Digital library opens at Ghazni education dept
GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Digital libraries would be set up and connected with international organisation at schools across southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.
Education Director Husni Mubarak Azizi inaugurated a digital library linked with several foreign libraries at the education departmetn. The library was completed at a cost of $1.5 (72.6 million afghanis), he said.
Twenty computers have been installed in the library to enable students to read a variety of books online. The iniative was implemented with financial support from Japanase, German and Iranian embassies.
Speaking on the occasion, a Polish official, promised five other such libraries would be opened in Ghazni City.
The director said 16 librarians had been trained on instructing students on access to books in world libraries.
Resident Sarwar Amini welcomed the inauguration of the library, calling it a good chance for Ghazni City dwellers to study modern books online.
