KABUL (PAN): Rawalpindi Rams eased past the Afghan Cheetas with four wickets in hand in a Faysal Bank T20 Cup match at the National Stadium in the port city of Karachi, an official said on Thursday.
The visitors, who opted to first in the day-night match after their skipper Nabi Issakhel won the toss, compiled 162 runs for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated overs, the Afghan Cheetas coach told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Raees Ahmadzai said over the telephone that Samiullah Shinwari smashed a quick-fire 53 off 32 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes, and Najib Zadran an unbeaten 51, including three boundaries and as many sixes.
The opposition romped home in the 19th over, with four wickets to spare, thanks to wayward bowling by the tourists in dying moments of the game, the coach said, praising Awais Zia of Rawalpindi Rams for his match-winning knock of 60 off 41 deliveries.
