2 tonnes of weapons, ammunitions seized
PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN): Two tonnes of weapons and ammunitions were seized during an operation in Dushi, Banu and Baghlan-i-Markazi districts of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Saturday.
The weapons included 150 mortar shells, 12 artillery shells, three jerry canes of explosives and mines, said the provincial police chief.
Brig. Gen. Asadullah Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News the weapons were surrendered to the Disbanding of Illegal Armed Group.
A militant commander, named Ghafoor, was killed and 10 others including his sons and brothers were arrested during the operation.
