Jawzjan revenues increase by 69pc
SHIBERGHAN (PAN): The revenue of northern Jawzjan province increased 69 percent during the first six month of the current Afghan year, compared to the corresponding period of last year, officials said on Sunday.
The half-yearly revenue stood at 73 million afghanis, against the 43 million afghanis collected last year, said Mohammad Rassoul Anwari, the revenue department head.
He said most of the income came in taxes on real estate transactions, telecom networks, private organisations and government bodies.
About 48 construction companies, 28 commercial firms, 26 NGOs operating in the province played an important role in revenue generation, said Eng. Abdul Hamid, the director of economy.
