SHARAN (PAN): A newly-constructed warehouse for the agriculture department was inaugurated in southeastern Paktika province on Sunday.
Work on the Provincial Reconstruction Team-funded warehouse was launched five months ago, the agriculture director said.
Hamidullah Tokhi told Pajhwok Afghan News the eight meters high building had the capacity to store 5,000 tonnes of commodities.
Costing $88,000, the warehouse has been built on 800 square metres of land. "Previously, we did not have such a store for improved seeds. Most of wheat stocks were destroyed for lack of a warehouse, the director added.
