Former governor dies of heart failure
KHOST CITY (PAN): A former governor of Khost and Ghazni provinces has died of a massive heart attack, a relative said on Monday.
Mirajuddin Patan, who passed away in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif on Sunday night, will be laid to rest in Kabul on Wednesday.
Born in the Dand Patan district of Paktia province, he served as governor of Khost and Ghazni during the first tenure of President Hamid Karzai.
Meanwhile, Khost Governor Abdul Jabbar Naeemi expressed deep sorrows over Patan's death. He praised the ex-governor as a patriotic Afghan.
