Private firms a threat to security: Khalid
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Private security companies pose a threat to the security situation in southern Kandahar province, a senior official alleged.
Asadullah Khalid, the border and tribal affairs minister, told a press conference late on Monday security in the province was being threatened by private firms.
The companies would be shifted to remote areas over the next five days to improve security in the province, he said, adding registration of unlicensed vehicles and weapons was among his priorities.
He also promised removing roadblocks around certain offices and deploying the public order police force in the provincial capital.
