Pakistan again offers help in probe

Pakistan again offers help in probe

Oct 05, 2011 - 15:18

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Pakistaninfo-icon on Wednesday rejected as baseless allegations that it had refused to provide assistance in the investigation of the assassination of Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani.

"Pakistan remains committed to provide all possible assistance and facilitation to the Afghan government in investigating the assassination of Ustad Rabbani," the Pakistan embassy in Kabul said.

During his September 22 visit to Kabul, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani had conveyed Pakistan’s willingness to extend all possible cooperation in probing the high-profile death, a statement from the embassy said.

"There is no truth in the claims by certain officials that the embassy of Pakistan has conveyed the government's refusal to cooperate in this matter," the statement added.
