Rebel commander killed along with daughter
The operation was conducted late in Tagab district late on Wednesday night by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
Abdul Hakim Akhunzada, the administrative head of Tagab, told Pajhwok Afghan News commander Maskin was responsible for making suicide vests and conducting attacks against security personnel.
The commander and his seven-year-old daughter were killed and his five-year-old son and an elder sister were injured during the raid, he added.
Maskin was killed during the raid on his house in the Qala-i-Zal village, said the provincial police chief, Col. Pacha Gul Bakhtiar.
The woman, taken to the Bagram health facility for treatment, would be brought home, said a spokesman for French forces, Lt. Col. Eric de Lapresle.
