ISAF soldier killed in south

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) soldier was killed in southern Afghanistaninfo-icon, the alliance said on Friday.

The servicemember was killed late on Thursday, but the cause of his death was still unknown, a statement from ISAF said.

An investigation had been launched to determine the cause of the murder, the multinational force said.

In line with its police, ISAF did not reveal the soldier's nationality. Mostly, US, British and Canadian soldiers are deployed to southern Afghanistan.

Since the beginning of 2011, 472 foreign soldiers, including 355 US and 34 British troops, have been killed in the country.
