NATO fuel supply tankers torched in Karachi

KARACHI (PANinfo-icon): Four tankers carrying fuel for NATOinfo-icon-led troops in Afghanistaninfo-icon were set on fire by suspected militants in Karachi city of Pakistaninfo-icon's southern Sindh province on Thursday, police said.

The incident took place in the Shakar Pur area, local police said.

The tankers belonged to Mangal Group, Israr Shinwarai, spokesman of Tankers Union, told Pajhwok Afghan News. About 200,000 litres of fuel was loaded in the tankers, he said.

The tankers were completely gutted before police and fire brigade reached the scene, Shinwari said.
