Man netted for drug trafficking
ZARANJ (PAN): A drug runner was captured along with 50 kilograms of drugs in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Sunday.
The drugs were seized in a border area of Chakhansor district, Col. Mohammad Musa Rasuly, the provincial deputy police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The drug trafficker had placed the opium inside a tyre of a pick-up vehicle, but police managed to confiscate it, he added.
The detainee was known as Safar, who confessed to his crime during initial interrogation, saying the drugs did not belong to him and he was just trafficking them for cash, Rasuly concluded.
