KABUL‘s recent approval of the supplementary budget bill for the recapitalisation of Kabul Bank as a critical step forward in reinvigorating the Kabul process.
Currently in Kabul, European Union’s Deputy Secretary General Maciej Popowski said: “I very much welcome the fact that Afghan Parliament has reached a quorum and that the work of the Wolesi Jirga has resumed.”
A statement from EU said he met with members of the EU’s Friendship Group of the Afghan Parliament, which aims to foster relations between the European Parliament and the Wolesi Jirga.
At their maiden meeting, members of the newly-formed group, set up on September, 2011, hoped the session would lead to a productive engagement with the EU.
