6 insurgents killed, 30 detained

KABUL): Six insurgent were killed and 30 others detained in a series of operations in different parts of the country over the past 24 hours, the interior ministry said on Tuesday.

Afghan police, army and coalition forces conducted13 joint operations in Kabul, Laghman, Kunar, Kunduz, Faryab, Kandahar, Helmand, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Paktika and Paktia provinces.

Police seized four AK-47 assault rifles, one pistol, one rifle, three anti-vehicle mines, 3,200 PKM bullets and one radio handset, a statement from the ministry said. Three anti-vehicle mines were defused in Laghman and Khost.
