China pledges 50 ambulances

Oct 18, 2011 - 19:16

KABUL (PAN): China will donate 50 ambulances and some medical equipment to the Afghanistan's public health ministry, a minister said on Tuesday.

A contract of the effect was signed between, Dr Soraya Dalil, the acting public minister and Wu Gang Chen, the commercial counselor at the Chinese embassy in Kabul.

The ambulances and medical equipment will be handed over to the public health ministry in the near future, Dalild told reporters after signing the contract.

She said she asked Wu Gang Chen to provide some needed medical equipment and other facilities to the Jamhoriyat Civil Hospital in Kabul.

China has already assisted the 350-bed hospital with $25 million.
