By Mali Khan Yaqubi Oct 19, 2011 - 19:51KHOST CITY (PAN): Six people were arrested on suspicion of having ties to Taliban in southeastern Khost province during an ongoing search operation by ISAF and Afghan forces, an official said on Wednesday.
The joint operation was being carried out in Musakhel and Qalanderkhel districts of the province, a spokesman for the 203rd Thunder Military Corps, Col. Shah Sawar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Six Kalashnikovs were also recovered from the detainees over the past five days, he said. Four heavy weapons and explosive material were seized in Musakhel and poppy crop on 2.5 acres of land destroyed.
In Qalanderkhel district, a number of landmines were seized, he said, adding the operation would continue for another two days.
