KABUL (PAN): The US military donated more than 66,000 tables and chairs to the Ministry of Education on Saturday, an official said.

The furniture worth id="mce_marker"26,263 (6 million afs) was handed over to the ministry at a ceremony in Kabul, Amanullah Iman, the ministry spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the furniture would be distributed to 144 schools in Kabul, where 50 percent of about 14,100 schools lack scholastic resources.
