KABUL, the alliance announced on Monday.

One soldier perished in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in the south on Monday, while another was killed in an explosion in the east a day earlier, the multinational force said in separate statements.

In line with its policy, ISAF did not disclose the victims’ nationalities and exact locations of the incidents.

However, the Polish Defence Ministry announced one of its soldiers perished and another was seriously wounded in an explosion in Ghazni province.

Poland has 2,580 troops operating under ISAF in southern Ghazni. Thirty-one Polish troops have been killed so far in the country.

During the current year, 493 foreign troopers, most of them Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan.
