    Afghanistan 9th in T20 team rankings

    KABUL (PAN): Afghanistan is 9th in the shortest format of the game as the Reliance International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty20 International team rankings, launched in Dubai on Monday.

    Also the top-ranked Test side, reigning ICC World Twenty20 champion England is number one. With 127 points, England leads second-placed Sri Lanka by a solitary point.

    An ICC statement said only six rating points separated the next four sides, with New Zealand occupying third position, followed by South Africa, India and Australia.

    Pakistan, the ICC World Twenty20 2009 champion, is in seventh position, 14 points behind Australia. Afghanistan is just ahead of Zimbabwe.
