QALA-I-NAW (PAN): A newly-constructed building for the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department was inaugurated in northwestern Badghis province on Wednesday, an official said.
Funded by the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), the building cost $324,000 (6,801.01 afghanis), said Syed Rassoul Akbari, the department head. Taking eight months to complete, the three-storey building has 18 administrative rooms.
Separately, eight welfare projects were completed in northern Sar-i-Pul province under the National Solidarity Programme (NSP).
The projects accounted for eight million afghanis and took six months to complete, said Rural Rehabilitation and Development Director Eng. Jawed Jawed. The schemes included two water supply projects, two water reservoirs, four bridges, the gravelling of a two-kilometre road and two water dams.
