ISLAMABAD (PAN‘s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday, officials said.
Fourteen people were wounded when a bomb exploded in front of a bank in the New Rampura Gate area of the provincial capital, Peshawar, police officer Hanif Khattak said.
The blast took place in the Milad Square, a busy wheat flour trading centre in the Hashtnagri neighbourhood, one local trader named Mirza Gul told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The injured were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital, said Dr. Mushtaq, who added two of them were in critical condition.
Khattak said four shops and as many cars were also damaged in the explosion.
Elsewhere, two insurgents were killed and three others injured during an ongoing operation in the lawless Khyber tribal region near the Afghan border, a security official said on condition of anonymity.
He said the offensive would continue until the area was cleared of militants. Hundreds of families have fled the conflict zone and arrived at a refugee a camp in Peshawar.
Separately, a paramilitary troops’ vehicle hit a roadside bomb in the Landikotal sub-division of Khyber, killing two soldiers and injuring three others.
