Last hajj flight on Sunday: ministerBy Zarghona Salehi Oct 29, 2011 - 18:14
KABUL (PAN): The process of sending 30,000 hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia would be completed by Sunday, a Cabinet minister said on Saturday.
Hajj and Islamic Affairs Minister Mohammad Yusuf Niazi told a press conference in Kabul the number of pilgrims leaving for Saudi Arabia reached 29,000 today and would increase to 30,000 on Sunday.
Niazi hoped the Saudi government would issue visas to hundreds of more Afghans for the performance of hajj. He said they had talked to the Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry in this regard.
However, he did not provide any figure for those hundreds of others to be sent to Saudi Arabia.
