KABUL): President Hamid Karzai on Sunday expressed his condolences to the families of US soldiers who were killed in suicide attack in the Darul Aman area of Kabul a day earlier.
At least 13 international soldiers, one Afghan policeman and three civilians, including two school students, were killed in the Taliban assault on a military convoy.
On behalf of the Afghan people and government, Karzai extended sympathies to Rayne Crocker, US ambassador to Afghanistan-led troops.
Chairing a meeting of the National Security Council, the president also condoled with the families of two Australian soldiers killed in southern Kandahar province yesterday, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.
Karzai condemned the Kabul attack, saying the enemies of Afghan would never succeed in weakening the Afghan people’s resolve to bring peace and stability to their motherland.
