2 insurgents killed in Wardak airstrike

MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN) airstrike in central Maidan Wardak province, officials said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday night in Chak district, Shahidullah Shahid, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He said the insurgents intended to fire missiles on Afghan and international troops in the area. 

District chief Ismail Wafa confirmed the incident, saying it occurred in the Araban area. The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
