ISLAMABAD (PAN): Four people were killed in a drone strike in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region near the Afghanistan border, an official said on Tuesday.
The people were killed when the unnamed aircraft struck a vehicle and a house in the Mir Ali area at around 8pm on Monday, local official Daftar Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News. Four people, whose identities were not disclosed, perished in the attack, Khan added.
The incident occurred in the Nurang area, Tribal elder Ajmal Wazir said, claiming the victims were all local residents.
SO far this year, the CIA-operated drones carried out 74 assaults on North and South Waziristan, inflicting casualties on Haqqanis, Al Qaeda and local rebels in addition to civilians.
