CHARIKAR (PSN): Six Japanese-funded education projects worth $ 600,000 (28,836,000afs) have been completed in the Salang district of central Parwan province, officials said on Tuesday.
The projects, including buildings for a Quran memorisation centre, schools, toilets, a water canal and water tanks, took six months to complete, Hafizur Rahman Salehi, the education department spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
With six classrooms, as many toilets and a clean water supply system, the Quran memorisation centre in the Qalatak area had the capacity to accommodate 300 students, Salehi said.
A building for the Eng. Mohammad Gul Secondary School, having the capacity of housing 200 students, was also constructed, said Education Director Zalmay Shahid. Others schools in the district were also provided facilities, such drinking water, generators, etc.
